1) What is the
BowPlane?
The BowPlane is
completely new for 2007 and is the most advanced, most complete laser
setup tool available. The BowPlane incorporates laser and fiber optic technology to
project a precision line of laser light 360 degrees around the inside
perimeter of your bow--creating a visible sheet or plane for you to set
your rest, sights and cams--all in one easy step.
The construction industry will soon see this technology, but we
are bringing it to the archery industry first.
What makes the
BowPlane different from other laser setup tools on the market?
-
Other
laser setup tools only have a laser pointer/dot that has to be
continually rotated or moved around to check the spots you want to
check. The BowPlane
checks everything all at the time with a laser plane that goes 360
degrees all the way around the inside perimeter of your bow.
-
The
BowPlane sets and/or checks your sights too which no other laser
tool can do.
-
The
BowPlane aligns everything on your bow at once, including your rest,
sights and cams. Other
tools cannot check everything—you’d need to buy several
different tools to accomplish everything that the BowPlane does.
-
The
BowPlane does not have any moving parts as other laser tools do.
Moving parts will wear out, and the looser tolerances on
rotating and/or sliding parts lead to more errors and inaccuracy in
your setup.
-
Other
laser tools require you to remove your sights to install the laser,
but with the BowPlane you don’t have to remove anything.
To use the BowPlane, you nock it on your bow just as if it
was an arrow.
-
Some
laser tools mount directly against the bow riser, hope that your bow
riser is perfectly flat AND perfectly parallel to your bowstring.
This is not always the case, especially after risers are
dipped with camouflage coatings.
-
The
BowPlane doesn’t use hard to find batteries.
-
The
BowPlane is lightweight and compact, easy to take with you wherever
you go, giving you the reassurance of checking your bow and
accessory alignment in the field.
2) How does the
BowPlane work?
The BowPlane uses
patented (US Patent # 5,898,809 with patents pending) technology using
lasers with fiber optics.
3) How do I use
the BowPlane?
Simply nock the
BowPlane on your string and set it in/on your arrow rest like a normal
arrow. Activate the laser
and rotate the BowPlane shaft around its nock until the laser plane is
lined up with your bowstring. Adjust your rest left or right until the laser plane lines up
with your cams and/or wheels. This
is the plane in which to set your rest and sights. If you cannot get one cam or wheel to fall in the same plane
at the same time with the other cam and your bowstring, then you have
cam lean that you need to adjust.
4) What type of
batteries does the BowPlane use?
The BowPlane uses
4 simple, inexpensive AAAA (4A’a) alkaline batteries, which can easily
be found whenever you need them at any of our archery dealers, Radio
Shack, Office Depot or even direct through us.
5) Does the
BowPlane come with batteries?
Yes, BowPlane
comes ready to go, with 4 high quality EnergizerÒ
brand AAAA batteries included in each package.
6) How long do the
batteries last?
The BowPlane is
very efficient and can run for over 24 hours of continuous use.
7) How big is the
BowPlane, and how much does it weight?
The BowPlane shaft
is about 3/8” in diameter and
11” long. It weighs a mere 1.5 ounces with batteries installed.
8) Where can I
purchase the BowPlane?
The
BowPlane be easily purchased online direct through this website or through
any one of our dealers. Write
or call and we can recommend a dealer in your area!
9) Will the BowPlane work on my recurve
bow?
Yes, the BowPlane will work on your
recurve too.
10) How visible is the laser outdoors?
The laser can be seen while outdoors,
but can be harder to see if it is very bright out.
Most of your use with the BowPlane will probably be done indoors
anyway. Dimming the lights or turning the lights out completely is
fun to do with the BowPlane, on or off your bow.
11) Can I justify this purchase by
telling my wife she can also use it to hang pictures?
Yes.
